Autobiography Of My School | School Life As A Student And As A Teacher

School memories never fade away”.

It’s a golden opportunity for me to recollect my memories as a Sunbeamian. To write an article based on my experiences in Sunbeam School, I have to mention it in two dimensions as a student and as a present working Teacher. First, let me share the colourful memory of student life at Sunbeam. My school life in Sunbeam was about two years with evergreen memories. I can still remember the first day when I stepped into Sunbeam for admission in 11th std. The environment was covered with a green area and a large playground with huge buildings. It was a little challenging moment for me because I came from a girls’ school to a co-education. I was a bit nervous to start the day. It has turned out to be an energetic day after a motivational speech by The Chairman and the Principal on a freshers day. Their charismatic speech influenced all the students. The speciality of Sunbeam is, each batch of students was identified by their unique names. I belonged to the batch of “Aristocrats. My teachers are well experts in their subjects and the school provided Smart Class for effective learning. Sunbeam provides a platform to showcase your talents and skills. It gives equal opportunity to all to participate in events and to grab their chances. Inter-house activities took place among the 4 houses namely Garnet, Emerald, Marble, and Sapphire. We had club activities. Students can join the club based on their interests. I joined an adventure club and went trekking on a 16px hill. It was a thrilling experience and an exciting moment with my friends. My memorable place in my school was the canteen. Every evening I and my friends had fun together. The happiest part of school was being on tour with friends. School provided a chance to visit Goa. It was a great experience exploring places. We visited many tourist spots in Goa and it was a mind-blowing trip to be recollected. Apart from academics, Sunbeam provides an opportunity to exhibit cultural talents. A special day was “SUNBEAM FEST” where the students would dress up colourfully and dance on the floors. The auditorium was crowded with people and we enjoyed the events.

Another day to mention was “SUNBEAM DAY” where the award and prizes for the winners were distributed by the Chief Guest. Cash Prizes were distributed to the District Rank Holders. One of the memorable events to mention was a debate show which took place on our school campus in the presence of Honorable Debate Judge Solomon  Papiah along with the famous debate speakers Mr. Raja and Mrs. Bharathi Baskar. It was an interesting debate and boosted the energy level of students. As a result of outstanding performance in academics, my batch scored District Rank which is one of the greatest achievements of the Sunbeamians. Our batch of students passed out with flying colours. Sunbeam has created Engineers, Doctors, entrepreneurs, and educational scholars. I am proud to say that Sunbeam has moulded us to face the challenges in a unique way. Let me share the next part of my life in Sunbeam.

One of my unexpected journeys of 2020; Back to School as A Teacher.”

As a job seeker, I was looking for a job. One day I looked into the advertisement and applied for a job. After 7 years when I stepped again into Sunbeam, it gave me an opportunity as a teacher for preparing the brighter citizens. The changes I found in the School Campus were the expansion of School Buildings and a Robotics Lab. Sunbeam never fails to provide support to the alumni. It gives preference to the alumni in all ways. I started my career in my former school. It is a proud moment for me to work as a teacher where I finished my schooling. It was a pleasure working with the same teachers who taught me during my school days. I received blessings from my old teachers on my first day as a teacher. It was a nostalgic feeling When I entered the class, remembering my school days when I was a student sitting with my friends. I was a bit nervous and excited to start my first day. The satisfactory side is that the students responded well and provided cooperation in the class. Working as a teacher is a challenging one because it is the responsibility of creating future generations. It is the competency of the teacher to be upgraded in their subjects and should teach the students with the latest information. My method of teaching is with examples which connect to the current situation. I create a story based on the topic which would be remembered by the students easily. Sunbeam provides employees’ welfare in the name of NAAM SUNBEAM. It provides monthly benefits to all the workers on a rotational basis. It gives recognition to the teaching and non-teaching staff for their outstanding performance by providing awards and prizes. Sunbeam provides a positive workplace for the teachers and gives the motivation to work in a healthy environment effectively. I am satisfied to work at Sunbeam and I enjoyed my memorable school life. I am glad to be a part of Sunbeam.
